Stoa #8 Stop procrastinating with this analogy

"Where should I start? “ “I don't know where to begin.” “There are so many options, but which one is the best?" Instead of overwhelming her with multiple choices, which often leads to more confusion, I decided to respond with a question of my own:

Congratulations on trying to become part of the top 1% now, who constantly improve themselves mentally as much as physically 🏆
In the last episode, we already talked about how 4 social skills can make you attractive AF to anyone.

Introduction
Where should I start?

A few days ago, a close friend of mine shared her desire to embark on a journey of self-improvement and start her own business.

However, she was unsure of where to begin and asked me for guidance. She expressed her confusion by saying,

"Where should I start? “
I don't know where to begin.”
“There are so many options, but which one is the best?"
Instead of overwhelming her with multiple choices, which often leads to more confusion, I decided to respond with a question of my own:

Analogy
Procrastination will kill you.

"Now, imagine yourself sitting in a dense forest, surrounded by thick fog. Your visibility is limited to just a few meters, and there are no visible paths.
Which direction would you choose to go? You might initially select one direction, only to realize halfway that it is not promising. In that case, you would return and now have a better understanding that there are fewer options available, which may lead you to discover a more promising path. The chance of survival in this situation is not guaranteed, but it is higher than if you were to remain where you started and wait until you STARVE.”

No one is coming to save you. Take a chance and try something. It may not be the right choice, but you will learn valuable lessons along the way and potentially uncover a better option to pursue.

Author Mark Manson beautifully compared this scenario to an artist who is too afraid to publish their art but continues to create more pieces:

People would rather be an unknown failure than a known failure, who has a chance to succeed.

Mark Manson

You will still be a failure. Just unknown with 0% chance of success.

Cheers.
